I've long been a fan of both Sci-Fi and Comedy- preferably both at the same time! I've been working on this site off and on since the early '90s. My other interests include Astronomy, Physics, Computers, Graphic Arts, 3D Rendering, Politics, Music (Peter Gabriel, Sting, Paul Simon, Pink Floyd, The Stones, and many others..). I'm also into Star Trek (
Voyager,DS9, andTNG), Mystery Science Theater 3000, Monty Python and Douglas Adams, whose quirky view of the universe, and hilarious books such as The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy have influenced me to take on the "Zaphod" pseudonym.
I'm a member of The Planetary Society, The National Space Society, The American Association of the Advancement of Science,
PBS (WHYY, WVLT and more..), The Nature Conservancy, The Hunger Project, and am on the board of and designed & update the site for the Raul Julia Bike Challenge. By the way, the background image is of Planetary Nebula NGC6543. One of the more impressive firework displays when a star went nova.
